Rally: Stop US racism! Justice for Haitian refugees!
Solidarité Québec – Haiti invites Quebeckers and Canadians from all walks of life as well as all citizens of the world to strongly denounce US racism against Haitians as well as deportations which are contrary to international law.
In recent days, we have seen horrifying images circulating of the inhumane treatment inflicted on refugees mainly from Haiti on the border with Mexico and Texas. The horror reached its height when the Biden administration decided to deport thousands of these refugees to Haiti after launching border agents on horseback who, like real slave patrollers, terrorized, insulted and dispersed them.
Never have such degrading tactics been deployed against migrants on the Texas border. Is it because this time the migrants are blacks from Haiti? Everything indicates that nothing has changed between the Trump administration and the Biden administration.
White supremacy is the basis of US policy and the whole world can see that it asserts itself unashamedly against Haitian refugees in total disregard for international conventions on the rights of asylum seekers.
The actions of the Biden administration are all the more reprehensible given the fact that these Haitian refugees fled Haiti due to the chaos created by the interference in Haiti of the United States, Canada and other countries member of the Core Group.
Let’s gather in front of the United States Consulate at 1134 Ste-Catherine Ouest, Saturday, September 25 at 11:30 am to say Stop US Racism! Canada outside the Core Group! Justice for Haitian refugees! Family reunification now!

I watched the film Haiti Betrayed recently and I was horrified to learn about the Canadian government’s role in the 2004 coup against Haiti’s democratically elected president, and the subsequent political interference and military occupation of Haiti in which thousands of Haitian citizens were killed.
Thank you for your comment about Haiti Betrayed!
Élaine Brière’s thorough work is a very important one to spread crucial information. We ought to know, as Canadians, about such horrifying things that our government is doing in our name. We ought to understand better and better, as citizens of the world, how the network of imperialism and neocolonialism is truly impacting our lives.
Also, your take on those facts revealed in Haiti Betrayed is shared by many: https://twitter.com/TamaraLorincz/status/1484381844007100418
